BIG NEWS!! ROY BENNETT AT ASHANTI COFFEE ON THURSDAY 11TH DECEMBER 2008. CLICK HERE

In 2003 the local Headman and Elders approached our farm to help rebuild a school that had been burned. They brought the parents, children, supporters from Maundwa School to our farm to pick coffee. They money they earned would go towards building a new school. They arrived with much laughter and singing. Their hard work and strong sense of community impressed us. We matched their earnings with a contribution.A new school was built and an ongoing relationship with Maundwa School was established.Soon another school, Ndiadzo, was helping to pick coffee during the holidays and used their earnings to buy books and pens. We contributed science kits and blackboards. There are still many things they need and, in the hard economic times that Zimbabwe is experiencing, they need assistance more than ever.A portion of coffee sales at our roastery goes to helping improve Maundwa and Ndiadzo schools. They have given us a list of things they need.

We are always interested in ways to help the local communities. If you have any ideas please share them with us.
